This church was built in the years 1551-1603 by the master masons Jordi and Antoni Genovard.
The façade crown in baroque style was built by 1746 according to the design of the majorcan capuchin monk Gaietá.
Parson Pere Antoni Mayol tiled the portalin 1685-87 and built the stais. By 1710 Parson Mgr. Miquel Soler built the rose-bush chapel according to the plans of Architect Joan d'Aragó. The church stands on land previously occupied by a smaller church, which was demolished according to the progress of the new construction.
A third and more primitive church is part of the parsonage. It was probaly built in the 14th century and has been recently restored.
It was first dedicated to Santa María. By 1375 and probably due to the construction of a new temple, Sant Miquel took over as patron saint.
