The settlement of CLOSOS DE CAN GAIÀ is situated in Portocolom, municipality of Felanitx, some 700m away from the coastline. This prehistoric settlement has at least nine identifiable navetes (most probably there were more of them) and is one of the most important and best preserved of Majorca.
Since 1996 the Prehistoric Laboratorium of the Balearic University is doing archeological excavation work here. The purpose has been to do research on the way of living of the site's inhabitants, as well as on the environment in which they lived. |
